Wilderness House Literary Retreat continues its tradition by presenting

A Lunch with Lois Ames

Lois Ames is a poet, biographer and psychotherapist. Born in Boston, she graduated from Smith College, and from the University of Chicago with a Master of Arts degree in psychiatric social work. She has published many biographical essays on Anne Sexton and Sylvia Plath, including "A Biographical Note" in The Bell Tar (Harper & Row) and Anne Sexton: A Self Portrait in Letters (Houghton Mifflin). She has received, among other awards and citations, a gold medal from The University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration Alumni Association, "For Outstanding Achievements in Education & Human Welfare." She is Lecturer on Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

The mother of a son and a daughter, she lives on an old family farm in Sudbury, Massachusetts.

A casual chat over lunch with poet and biographer Lois Ames. A warm cozy fire, lunch and hot cider make an exceptional environment in which to talk about reading and writing -- and life. Bring your favorite poems or stories to read or just come, listen and feast.

$25 per person, limited to 20 participants.

The event will take place in the Great Room of the headquarters of the New England Forestry Foundation at 32 Foster Street, Littleton MA
